Trees

Although James’ paintings of Woodlands are less numerous he is no stranger to regular contact with trees. He walks in  the same small area of pine woods close to his home most weeks.

” I’ve had this routine for a long time now, there’s some wonderful river valleys in Bolton, many with old features of the cotton industry that have been reclaimed by nature, they are humble small areas of woodland but once your surrounded by trees my imagination returns to fairy tales. We all need somewhere outside of our regular routine that refreshes us and allows us to dream a little. I don’t go to the woods to be an artist, I go to be a child”  James Naughton 2016
